BPPV

BPPV is the most common cause of vertigo (the sensation that the world is spinning). It’s usually set off by specific head movements such as:

  • Rolling over in bed, often with one side being worse
  • Getting into/out of bed
  • Bending over
  • Tipping your head back to look up
  • Quick head movement
  • If BPPV is present , a series of gentle head movements (Epley Maneuver ) can usually resolve the problem immediately.
